Grass: Meat for the Mind

Did you know that a tender grass (or sprouts) diet helps heal mental illness?

One of the most intriguing stories in the Bible is that of Babylonian King Nebuchadnnezar. The king amazingly regained his mental health and his kingdom and increased in spiritual devotion to God after a seven-year tender grass diet. Exactly what kind of grass the king consumed is not mentioned in chapter 4 of the Old Testament book of Daniel. But we can safely assume it was barley grass, the principal crop cultivated then and there.

No wonder. An NIH article reveals barley grass contains 30 times thiamine and 11 times the calcium than that of cow’s milk, 6.5 times carotene and 5 times the iron content of spinach, 7 times the vitamin C in oranges, 4 times thiamine in whole wheat flour, 2 times protein in barley grains, its total flavonoids and alkaloids are 2.1 times, 10.7 times, and GABA 37.8 times of brown rice.

A World’s Healthiest Foods article reveals many studies have shown a link between barley consumption and the prevention of ischemic strokes, among other health concerns, including premature death. It further states, “A new study and accompanying editorial, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition explains the likely reasons behind these findings and recommends at least 3 servings of whole grains should be eaten daily.”

Wheatgrass is a known superfood for “improving nerve signaling and mental well-being.

During creation week, God gave mankind his meat or food or fuel: nuts, seeds, grains, fruits and vegetables. Beyond that is no higher recommendation for strength of life. And it is no secret that from then to the flood mankind existed hundreds of years—nearly a thousand! Methuselah lived 969 years and died. It doesn’t indicate that he became sick or lost his mental acumen and then died. He just died. It was his time.

“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat” (Genesis 1:29).

Too Late!

Modern medicine is founded upon germ theory, largely work of the scientist Louis Pasteur. Sources say that Pasteur, however, discredited his own work upon his deathbed. He further confessed that the work of his bitter opponent, Antoine Bechamp, was correct. But by that time, modern medicine had gained its foothold, and natural remedies were discredited. It was too late.

The Dead Know Nothing

“Ye shall not surely die.”

Do you know that is a lie? It is the first lie recorded in the Bible that Satan told in the garden of Eden. Read Genesis 3:4 (KJV).

Still, man believes it, even though God makes it clear in His Word that the dead knows nothing. Man disregards God, essentially saying that God’s Word is not true. God, the Creator and Redeemer, many call a liar, while at the same time calling on His name when in need.

Man wants the dead to be in heaven, regardless of the life they led. That includes even those who chose to take the life of another and end up dying in the act, as well as those who committed suicide. The masses have been deceived this way, doubtless in many cases, because no one wants to think of a loved one being anywhere else but in heaven in death.

How we each live life is a choice. God, who knows the end from the beginning, is just and therefore, loves us enough to allow everyone choices. The consequences result in blessings or curses. Whether unto life or death, God knows all.

God’s word is clear, hear what He says is the state of the dead.

Isaiah 38:18
For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

Psalm 6:5
For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Psalm 30:9
For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Isaiah 26:14
They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.

2Samuel 12: 22-23 22 ¶ And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live? 23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

Job 7:9-10 KJV
9 As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. 10 He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more. …

Psalm 88:10-11 KJV
[10] Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah. [11] Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction?

Psalm 115:17
The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.

Ecclesiastes 9:10
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Ecclesiastes 9:5-6
[5] For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. [6] Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

Be not deceived. Do not continue to believe the lie. Repent and be converted.

Double-Mindedness Grieves Away The Holy Spirit

There is a lot of double-mindedness going on.

One’s actions spring from that which is spoken as a result of what is in the mind.

Many are saying one thing and doing another, because the mind (heart) is not converted and because there is no true repentance. Neither is the mind truly rooted or grounded in the Lord God. Because there is no love for the truth, words are mere distractions. One day this or that is spoken, but the action to back up the words does not come to pass. The real problem is one’s state of mind.

A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Let that marinate. Let it really sink in.

Then choose by faith to surrender self completely to the will of God. Do not become one that takes it all in—professing, proclaiming—but not doing. Time is wrapping up. Hear and do before it is too late. Only hearing and never doing grieves away the Holy Spirit. In this way, many know not that they have grieved away the Holy Spirit for the last time.

Have you?

Stop Missing Out, Being Confused

Many who go/live/walk only by the New Testament Scriptures err in the Scriptures and have no understanding of God.

God is clear in His two witnesses: the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments. They testify of Him. The Old Testament Scriptures are the foundation on which the New Testament is written.

Jesus was so very clear when He was referencing the writings of Moses. If we do not believe them, we will not believe Jesus, for Moses wrote of Him. He said search the Scriptures. They testify of Him. God tells us His word is to be understood line upon line, line upon line; precept upon precept, precept upon precept; here a little and there a little. All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God. And it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (Read John 5:39; Isaiah 28:9,10; 2 Timothy 3:16.)

We are not to reason using as a basis our own opinions or perceptions, nor the opinions or perceptions of others. Only by the Word of God is it safe to reason. It is thus that we can be led of the Holy Spirit and gain understanding. Trusting the Spirit of God, we can be guided into all truth. (Read John 16:13.)

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12).

We are to live by God’s Holy Word. The Old and New Testaments, God’s law, God’s Commandments are His light to guide our paths. There is in God’s word counsel, instruction in righteousness for every life circumstance and situation. Period. God, through King Solomon, said there is nothing new under the sun. That which was, is, and will be again. (Read Ecclesiastes 1:9, 10.) Let that marinate.

Warning

We would be wise to heed the word of God. His will, His instruction in righteousness, His reproof, His doctrine, His culture, His religion, His warning to us what not to do, are all for our good. His warning to us of the consequences for disobeying Him are meant to protect us from the wages of sin.

We who belong to God are saved by grace through faith. We do not play, compromise, sneak around with, nor hold on to sin. We choose by faith to avoid it like the plague. Let that sink in.
