Modern medicine is founded upon germ theory, largely work of the scientist Louis Pasteur. Sources say that Pasteur, however, discredited his own work upon his deathbed. He further confessed that the work of his bitter opponent, Antoine Bechamp, was correct. But by that time, modern medicine had gained its foothold, and natural remedies were discredited. It was too late.
