If, we truly be the true followers of Jesus Christ—we believe, and enter into His rest.
There remains the holy seventh day (sabbath day) of rest—Jesus day of rest, to keep holy, to observe. He tells us here in Hebrews. He tells us before His death and resurrection and ascension to Heaven in Matthew 24.
He first blessed the seventh day and hallowed it—the seventh day (sabbath day) is holy, sanctified by Jesus Christ the Lord of it; Jesus gave the seventh day to us first in Genesis 2. He wrote it into His Ten Commandment law to be kept holy, and to observe, worship Him in Exodus 20, and in Exodus 16 explained how to prepare for it on the sixth day. He also explained us cleaning ourselves and our clothes, surroundings before sabbath (before the seventh day) the sixth day when we compare and look at the day of atonement—what was done before hand, they prepared to enter into the holy presence of the holy God.
The Sabbath day (seventh day) is filled up with Elohim, we enter into His presence, the day is all about Him. Period. Remember the fact that our worship, our service unto God is our choices in thoughts, words, actions or deeds.
Jesus said He is Lord of the sabbath—See Matthew 12:8, Mark 27:28… If He changed the day of rest, it would of been changed by Jesus before His death—like as He did the Passover, Jesus gave us a new Passover in washing of each others feet, eating of His flesh, drinking of His blood—this we do in place of the Passover, and we are to do Jesus said in remembrance of Him. Ask Elohim in Jesus name for the Holy Spirit and read and study these holy scriptures listed above and below and also Luke 22:8,15-20. John 13. These are not the only holy scriptures but they are a start for study.
“Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”
Hebrews 4:1-13 KJV
Jesus said: “But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
Matthew 24:20-21 KJV
“And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter. For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.”
Mark 13:18-19 KJV
Paul, and all Jesus disciples kept His seventh day the sabbath (sabbath means 7th). The sabbath is noted as being the seventh day, the day after the day preparation the six day— See Luke 23:54, John 19:31. See what Paul did every Sabbath unto the people including the Gentiles in Acts chapters 13, 17, 18.
What our Creator and Redeemer blessed and sanctified and wrote into His law the Ten Commandment law cannot be voided, blotted out nor changed by no one. No man can make nothing, no day holy. Only God.
The day spoken of, that we are warned of in Matthew 24 is soon upon us. Will we be ready, today and remain ready daily?
