The Ten Commandment law of God is His law of love by which He governs His people. His character, His love for us in Him telling us how to love Him, how to love one another as we love ourselves.
The first four are how we love God (Exodus 20:3-8). The last six are how we love one another as we love self (Exodus 20:9-17). Keeping (obeying, observing, cherishing, protecting…) His law of love is by our faith, is done by the power He gives unto those who choose Him, surrender their will to His will. The one who chooses God receives His power to live under His government of true love—it is the fruit of righteousness living His light, His love. No one can fake it because darkness and true light, truth and error cannot dwell together. Some may deceive others, but they cannot deceive God.
The tree shall be known by its fruit.
When one loves God with all their heart, with all their soul, with all their might—that is total complete surrender to God, self has to die, daily die that Christ may live within.
Master, which is the great commandment in the law? KJV — Matthew 22:36
The first four Commandments:
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. KJV — Matthew 22:37
This is the first and great commandment. KJV — Matthew 22:38
The last six Commandments:
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. KJV — Matthew 22:39
The Whole Law is within the two and is why if you break one, you break them all:
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. KJV — Matthew 22:40
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. KJV — Matthew 5:16
- Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. KJV — Matthew 5:17
- For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. KJV — Matthew 5:18
- Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. KJV — Matthew 5:19
- For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. KJV — Matthew 5:20
Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. KJV — 1John 2:7
- Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. KJV — 1John 2:8
- He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. KJV — 1John 2:9
- He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. KJV — 1John 2:10
- But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. KJV — 1John 2:11
I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. KJV — 2John 1:4
- And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. KJV — 2John 1:5
- And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. KJV — 2John 1:6
- “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Matthew 7:12-14 KJV
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Matthew 7:12-14 KJV
“And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
Galatians 3:12 KJV
The Ten Commandment law is deep and broad. Do not stay on the surface, just reading. But, study digging deep into the Treasure: The holy scriptures.
Know God, learn of Him. Let Him change you. Love God because He first loved us.
Peace
