Abiding and prayer

Series: Part Two-The behavior of true fellowship (h)

The end result of true fellowship with God

We must seek God for His Spirit, He will put His Spirit in us. If we abide in Him (by faith if we stay in Him, remain connected to Him); and if His Word abides in us (remains, dwells in, stays in us); we shall ask what we will and it shall be given us—our will is now His word, His will. Our will that we ask will be according to His word. In reading and in study, eat Job 42:8; John 15 about the fig tree; Mark 11; Luke 13. As you do, keep in mind, “abiding in Him”.

All our living has to do with whether or not we by faith are abiding in Christ that our prayers be guided by Him; and that we pray according to His will through His Spirit—that He hear, answer us. If our prayers be according to His word which is His will, He shall hear, answer—yes, and amen. We have confidence in God that if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us. Repetition depends the impression.

All unrighteousness (not abiding in Christ by faith, all wrong doing, unjust living, ungodliness, not living uprightly, not living by every word that has gone forth out of the mouth of God, etcetera) is sin.

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death.

There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.”
