The love of God is defined and exemplified, illustrated, demonstrated, clarified in His written word; and in His Son the Word; in God’s very character—His law, His commandments.
God’s love, loves no matter what one has said and done. Yet, and still God requires total and complete separation from the violations (sins against God) of His law of love, from that which is the cause, the root.
If one truly confesses their sin/sins, God forgives and cleanses from all unrighteousness. If one truly repents, forsaking all sin; God converts them, they are reconciled unto God. But! If one confesses, and chooses not to repent, chooses not to forsake sin; but they choose to remain in sin, they choose to continue to live contrary to God; there will not be reconciliation to God.
In relation to one another, if we be God’s, having His love; we forgive others whether they repent or not. Yet, if no change; we are not able to reconcile. If we cannot reconcile, we are to pray, pray without ceasing. We intercede in prayer to God giving God consent to do what need be done that they might be saved. We are to be willing to help them in their time of need if we are able—God will make us able, capable.
Just as God will not force repentance for it is a gift of God that we must accept; we do not force others to repent, forsake all. We do not force God’s love that He put in us for them—upon them.
This love that is the love of God requires one hundred percent from the soul, but will not force it. One has a choice to stand in completeness of life living under God, and all that being His entails, or not. Period.
At anytime, before it is too late; we are in prayer, in a state readiness to receive the other unto us if repentance be their choice.
This love that brings the power and the faith that causes us to demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit of God: Is the proof God’s Spirit is in us, proof of what is acceptable to God. The love of God allows our choices and the consequences of those choices. If we call on God, surrender; He will be there for He does not leave us. We by choice of words and actions separate from Him. So it is that we allow one another’s choices and the consequences.
True Love:
Proverbs 15:17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith. Proverbs 17:17 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.
Matthew 10:34-38 KJV
[34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. [35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. [36] And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. [37] He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. [38] And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
1 John 2:3-5 KJV
[3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. [4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [5] But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. …
1 John 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none d occasion of stumbling in him.
1 John 2:15-16 KJV
[15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 John 3:11-24 KJV
[11] For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. [12] Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. [13] Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. [14] We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. [15] Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. [16] Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. [17] But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? [18] My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. [19] And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. [20] For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. [21] Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. [22] And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. [23] And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. [24] And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 4:18-21 KJV
[18] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. [19] We love him, because he first loved us. [20] If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? [21] And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
John 14:15 KJV
[15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.
2 John 1:6 KJV
[6] And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
Matthew 22:37-40 KJV
[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Galatians 5:22-23 KJV
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Ephesians 5:9-11 KJV
[9] (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) [10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. [11] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.”
Hebrews 12:6 KJV
We can not know God nor His love and have His understanding if we stay on the surface. We must dig deep.
Study and show thyself approved of God… rightly dividing the word of truth.
