The Sabbath (The seventh day—Saturday):
“Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:1-12 KJV
“Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.”
Exodus 31:16 KJV
The Sabbath is the seventh day (Now referred to as Saturday). God blessed and sanctified the Sabbath—the Sabbath is holy. The Sabbath is more than a day: The Sabbath is God’s love, a day of mercy, a day of healing, a day of peace and joy and rest delighting in the very holiness in the presence of God. We are sanctified by the Sabbath, by God’s word. Please read, search out led of the Holy Spirit: Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Isaiah 66:23; Christ is Lord of the Sabbath: Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27,28; Paul preached and taught of Christ to Jews and especially Gentiles (Greeks)—read through Acts 13, 17, 18, 21. These are only a remnant of the word of God concerning Him, His Sabbath.
Hear what Luke said:
“And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither. And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.”
Acts 16:13-15 KJV
This woman, Lydia , received the truth with gladness, with joy. I can imagine in my mind the smile and peaceful expression upon her face. She and her household were baptized. The Lord opened Lydia’s heart ( mind—giving her understanding) through the Holy Spirit. These souls heard the truth, received truth and were converted that they be born again. After they were baptized, she bestowed the love of God upon them welcoming them into her home as if it was their home. She blessed them by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Experience the love of God bestowed upon the soul in His very presence: His holy seventh day. Experience true love, freedom, and holiness.
“If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”
Isaiah 58:13-14 KJV
