The Holy Things

The holy things of God are not to be handled just any old kind of way. This includes His Sabbath. This also includes His holy people: His sons and daughters.

The holy things of God are for holy use. His Sabbath is within God Himself. His very holy presence filled up the day He blessed and sanctified for holy use. God is to be reverenced in the sanctuary structure that we go to. And God is to be reverenced in us: His living walking sanctuary, built without hands of men, built by God! We are God’s holy vessels.

“And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God” (Exodus 3:5, 6 KJV).

“Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone. In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote” (Daniel 5:2-5 KJV).

“Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold. Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground” (Acts 7:32-33 KJV).

“And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the LORD”
‭‭(Numbers‬ ‭26‬:‭61‬‭KJV‬‬).

“And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.”
‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

How we come before the Lord, how we worship God in His holy day or in our daily lives speaks either that we love Him or hate Him. If we love Him, we will experience His agape or selfless love, reverence, holiness, respect, and selflessness. If we hate Him, within us will be seen double-mindedness, evil, wickedness, rebellion, confusion, noise of war, corruption, rejection of love and truth, disobedience to God, hatred for God, love of self (or selfishness), love for the world, love of the ways of the world. This actually characterizes the narcissistic person. Truly, it is Satan’s character.

Is the worship you experience daily and on Sabbath noisy? Does it sound completely chaotic? Is it confusion and without reverence in God’s house on His holy day? Is there no holiness in our dress? Are our thoughts holy? Do we speak our own words, do each our own thing? Is there no holiness as we worship daily? No matter the music played or sung, Wisdom is not there. The Holy Spirit has left the building. Even the angels have turned their faces in complete disgust and sorrow at the hate shown unto the Holy Father: our Creator and Redeemer.

Are we in disgust at ourselves? Are we ashamed? Are we sorrowful at the worship presented to the God of our salvation? Are we crying for ourselves? Are we weeping for other souls? Are we praying for ourselves? Are we being watchmen on the wall? Are we rising at midnight to pray? Are we watching and praying? Are we praying God’s Word back to Him that His Word not return unto Him void? Are we praying, believing and receiving His Word as though it is already done? Are we more concerned with spiritual need than physical or material need?

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

Whatever need we have, God sees to it. Our first and foremost thought, concern, business is God. First, seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

If within our mind is confusion, then know Satan is the author of confusion. For 1 Corinthians 14:33, tells us that God is not the author of confusion.

I encourage you to read and study through Psalm 119. Also read the first and second books of Peter, the Psalms, and Proverbs! O my Heavenly Father has left nothing out! He has given us all we need to know. He requires us to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us as we search His Word, as we read it, as we study it. We are encouraged to dig deep in His Word, as for hidden treasure! The Spirit of Truth guides us into all truth. From the Word, we are given God’s knowledge and understanding. God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.

God calls us to be holy in all our living.

“My son, if thou wilt receive my words, And hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, And apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, And liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, And searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: Out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: He is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, And preserveth the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, And equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, And knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, Understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, From the man that speaketh froward things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, To walk in the ways of darkness; Who rejoice to do evil, And delight in the frowardness of the wicked; Whose ways are crooked, And they froward in their paths: To deliver thee from the strange woman, Even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, And forgetteth the covenant of her God. For her house inclineth unto death, And her paths unto the dead. None that go unto her return again, Neither take they hold of the paths of life. That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, And keep the paths of the righteous. For the upright shall dwell in the land, And the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, And the transgressors shall be rooted out of it” (Proverbs‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭22‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

“And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death” (‭‭Exodus‬ ‭19‬:‭12‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

We are to be careful with God’s Word and with any of His holy things. In His Word, God tells us everything we need to know! Everything. Period. Nothing is left out for us to wonder.

If we are God’s, if we abide in Christ, Christ abides in us; there is no confusion about us being holy. God is holy. He makes us who belong to Him holy. We know what we worship. We know and keep (cherish, hold dear, handle carefully) ever so delicately His Word, His Law, His Commandments. We know God’s Commandments are righteousness. They are holy.

Our prayers, therefore, will harmonize with the integrity of God’s Word, as did Job’s–no matter the accusations, no matter the afflictions allowed upon us. We live to glorify God. With the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which He has put in us, we will be guided in keeping and doing His statues and judgments.

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭20‬ ‭KJV).‬‬

There should be no fuss, no argument, no hatred for the holy or for the holiness of God. We should want to eat and to drink of Him our every waking moment. Yes, even while doing our daily life duties and tasks, we are ever seeking to glorify God. Especially in our eating, drinking, and dressing, including that which we put in our hair or on our skin, even that which we set our eyes upon, or the music we allow our ears to hear, that which we allow our minds to dwell upon, or how we treat others, how we live before them (not railing back), and how we treat the poor or less fortunate, we are to be cautious! We are to guard well all the doors that give entrance into our minds.

If we belong to God, He makes us holy; for He, our God, is holy. Therefore, we do not watch, listen to, or do anything simply because it is popular culture in any part of the world. We do not worship God in a way that is acceptable to the world. Rather, we worship God according to what is acceptable to Him.

We do not dress like the world, like those who do not worship a holy God. Whatever is fashionable to put on or put in the body must pass the test of God’s Word, not that of the world. His people must remember that they are God’s living walking sanctuary. God’s holy temple is not used for just anything. Our bodies, His sanctuary, are to be covered. What is seen should direct the onlooker’s thoughts toward God and encourage holiness. Our nakedness is to be revealed to no one but God and our spouse.

Our talk (the way we speak) is not street talk. Our walk (the way we live) is not reckless! That is left in our past. We were once lost. We were once as they are; but we have been changed. Now justified by faith, we are God’s redeemed! We have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb! We walk, talk, eat, drink, in all we do, we do to the glory of God, being His witness that He is God. Our will is surrendered daily to the will of God Almighty!

We are to know that Satan has many counterfeits for every one truth of God. We see it throughout God’s Word. We will see them when we search the Word of God. God has given us warnings of everything concerning our salvation: our deliverance from sin.

Daily God looks down from Heaven. He is looking over His faithful. The way we live prove our love for God and hatred of Satan, or our hatred of God and love for self and Satan. Our lifestyle shows that we worship either God or Satan. Period.

“Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things” (‭‭Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭45‬-‭48‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

“Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works” (‭‭Titus‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV).

“For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth” (Deuteronomy‬ ‭14‬:‭2‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

“Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine”
(‭‭Exodus‬ ‭19‬:‭5‬ ‭KJV).‬

If we be God’s, let us remember we are ROYALTY, we are HOLY. Period.

“Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God”
(‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭20‬:‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

Christ is our standard our example of holiness.

I appeal to every soul who will only glance at, scroll past, or read this post, even all who profess God’s love for Him: “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me” (John‬ ‭5‬:‭39‬ ‭KJV‬‬) says Jesus.

“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: but as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy” (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

God through the Holy Ghost reminded me of Sampson. God sent His angel first to Sampson’s mother to tell her what she was not to do. She was to drink no wine nor strong drink; nor was she to eat any unclean thing. Read Judges 13:3, 4. Sampson was to be holy. He was to be used for God’s holy purpose.

In the same way, God has an original plan for each of His created beings. He has a holy purpose for each of us. He works all things together for good to them that love Him, and to the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Many times, we do what we want. We go ahead of God. Then we ask Him to intervene or to bless whatever we have already started on our own path, even the wrong path, after we have messed everything up.

Still, God is merciful. We must remember that God allows our choices, even those that are not in His perfect will. But He also allows the consequences.

Examine yourself. Whose witness are you? Will the holy of the Lord God, please STAND UP!
