“Put off thy shoes from off thy feet” is a command. The ground on which Moses stood was holy because of God’s holy presence was there. The bush stayed burning but never burned up—it was not consumed by fire because it was the very glory of God, His holy presence. God is a consuming fire—study that and know what Eloheem means (Deuteronomy 4:24, Hebrews 12:29).
“And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.”
Exodus 3:5 KJV
In Sabbath, is Eloheem’s holy presence—Sabbath is holy ground. It was given to all mankind and all mankind are commanded to keep Sabbath holy—If we belong to God, if He is our Holy Father, our Master, our God. We live daily unto Him, self-will is given up to His will. So when He commands, we take heed and obey because we know it is Love and we return unto Him Love—by faith and His Holy Spirit.
“If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”
Isaiah 58:13-14 KJV
God’s Agape is Love that is self-sacrificing. And, His Love allows our choices. Eloheem’s Love the world knows not of, the sinner in sin being unconverted (they who are sinners but are not Christ redeemed because they choose to hold on to their sin no matter how minute, no matter if just one sin—sin separates from God) doesn’t know. They think they know. But these are deceived.
In God’s command is His Love—He knows we will die if we don’t put off our shoes, if we don’t keep our foot off His Sabbath off His holiness; He knows we will die if our mind’s thoughts are not in Him; If our words spoken are not in Him; If our doings are not in Him—if we are eating, drinking, doing that which doesn’t glorify Him, then it’s disobedience to Him. He sees death before us, eternal death. He wants to save us! So He says STOP!!! Take your shoes off or you will die!
Now, will you choose Life or will you choose death?
