God is Love. God’s very existence, His life—His Nature is Love. His character is Love.
Keeping God’s Commandments, His Law of Love is not legalism. No. It is simply partaking of God’s nature: Living by faith by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. He is living in us via the Holy Spirit. His image and likeness restored in us is revealed by our living by faith—We keep the Commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus.
We cannot, we won’t love no one; We cannot, won’t love ourselves; We cannot and won’t love God without His very Nature, Love in us: If you love me, keep my Commandments.
“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.”
1 John 2:3-5 KJV
If a person chooses not to keep all God’s Commandments, they deny Jesus Christ, that He is. Period. They reject Him: Love.
