Let’s take a look at the root of “mental illness”.
There are those who have had a mental health crisis and have lived through it. There are those who have experienced mental crisis and were overcome, committed suicide.
There are they who have been strong in the Lord. Yet, they went through a mental crisis. There are they who did not ever know God ever, and experienced mental crisis. Both lived through it. What’s going on?
Without faith, it is impossible to please God. God has given to every soul that comes forth alive out of the womb a measure of faith. If faith is not exercised, it is lost. Satan tempts to doubt, unbelief. Sin is the transgression of the law of God. No matter what brought on the mental illness, the root is sin whether the choices of the soul or someone else.
This is sure: Somewhere along the course of life choices the one who was strong in the Lord became weak because of unbelief. Somewhere in their journey they doubted God. They may have compromised God in some way or fashion. God allows our choices. He will warn us. He will give us a way of escape, and power to endure to the end. Yet, He will not sway our choice for nor against Him.
In order for there to be mental illness, there has to be a choice to yield to Satan. The choice had to be more and more in order for devils to have control of the mind. The only way Satan has power over us is that we kept yielding to him, giving in to his temptations. Even if there is a “imbalance” in the brain, it is because of a violation of the law of God in one or more points.
I know from God teaching me through the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit that God has given each and every soul in the past, present and in the times ahead every opportunity to surrender wholly to Him, give Him full control, surrender self-will to God’s will. Every soul that has died, and that will die—I know God sought to draw them, to bid them to come to Him, to turn away from sin no matter the sin or sins. So, if any soul is lost, it is their choice, not God’s. God seeks to save. Only Satan seeks to steal, kill, and destroy.
It is not the will of God that the mind be forfeited to Satan. The sad truth of the matter is that each soul has a choice—and do not choose God. By not choosing God, their mind is forfeited to the control of Satan unless the soul seeks God, repents. God reads the mind (heart). He will deliver the soul wanting deliverance. God heals and the soul is made whole, they are to go and sin no more.
Because we have focused the mind to understand the souls who have gone back to sin over and over; we speak and live as though they who do not turn back to sin, don’t exist. They do. How do I know? If it were not true, there would be no account of those God took up into Heaven: Enoch, Elisha. There would not be God’s word spoken that if we be born of Him, we do not sin; if His seed remains in us we cannot sin, repent and be converted that our sins be blotted out, we be born again.
The root of mental illness is sin no matter if chemical imbalance, or whatever the symptom, or form it takes on.
Choose by faith to receive God’s gift, and repent and be converted, be born again. Commit self to God. Submit to God. Be reconciled unto God. Love God with His love, keep His commandments.
