The new creature reconciled unto God.
It is by the faith choice of the soul completely surrendered to God that the power, working of the Holy Spirit is ignited converting the repentant soul.
This new soul that exercises faith in accepting Christ gift of justification is reconciled unto God—being justified is only the first step as they by faith acknowledge God, receive His free gift: Salvation: He delivers us from sin. They see sin and choose enmity to sin. The soul repents, has the relationship and experience of being converted by the Holy Spirit. The soul knows and understands the marriage vows to God. Their life lived is to glorify God, be His witness in the life God has given them anew. They are to by faith live out the love, and the purpose of God.
“Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
2 Corinthians 5:16-21 KJV
“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; that at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: but now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: and came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”
Ephesians 2:11-22 KJV
All things are new!
If one has the gift of repentance from God, the will truly repent, and they will be converted. This change takes place before baptism. And after baptism we continue moving forward growing in Christ by faith and the working of the Holy Spirit. Baptism is like the public demonstration of the marriage vows that have already taken place before God. We by faith daily continue to surrender one hundred percent of self-will to the will of God: Die daily. This change (conversion) does not take a lifetime; but it is the lifestyle we the saved of God (the redeemed of God) choose to live for remainder of our lives in this earth. God is the God that sanctifies—makes us holy. God restores us unto His image after His likeness. We remain His righteous: The just shall live by faith.
If there is no true repentance, there will be no change of character and no change in the life lived: There cannot be reconciliation unto God.
Let us choose by faith to surrender self-will to the will of God, seek Him for the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit, and read of Him, study Him, receive understanding in all things—abide in Him and His Word abiding in us. We shall become changed by beholding Him.
This is life eternal, that we might know Him the only true God, and Jesus Christ, who He sent. Christ mind in us, the hope of glory.
“Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.”
2 Corinthians 13:11 KJV
