The transformation of the soul can only take place if the soul has truly repented, and is converted and chooses daily by faith to remain converted.
The soul is justified, and is filled with the righteousness of Christ by faith. The soul is sanctified by faith and the Holy Spirit God puts in the soul—this holiness is Christ within the soul for the remainder of the soul’s life. No, it does not take a lifetime to be made holy by God. For as long as the soul lives, by faith daily giving up self-will to the will of God; Christ mind is in the soul’s mind via the Holy Spirit. The soul by their faith is sanctified by God for the remainder of their life.
The soul by faith daily prays, studies the word of God, beholding God’s word and becomes changed. The soul by faith gives God consent to change them, perfect Himself in them. The soul daily brings their mind, body, life—their very being, existence under subjection to God.
The Holy Spirit teaches, guides the soul into all truth, giving the soul understanding in all things.
God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. This is by which every soul knows for certainty that God will not live in a soul that has sin in them—no matter the sin, no matter how light or insignificant they may perceive the sin to be. Be not deceived.

We abiding in Christ, His word is abiding in us. We live by faith. He does the conversion work in us through the Holy Spirit. This change of mind, of character, of living takes place only by the faith, daily consent of the soul, sacrifice of self given-up completely to the will of God, to be governed by God. We welcome God to govern us. We delight in all God’s law, it is not burdensome at all. We love God’s law.
Christ mind is in us—the hope of glory. We shall have God’s thoughts and ways. Take hold of God. Do not let Him go. Be not conformed to this world; but be changed by the renewing of your mind. The just shall live by faith. We can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens us. We are saved by grace through faith. Anyone found of God faithful, obedient—loving Him; is indeed filled with the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.
