Today, every-day: Who, what is our heart’s desire? Who do we seek to please? Who is our head, our center? Who is our focus?
Our desire must be for the spiritual. We must ask, seek, and knock for the Holy Spirit: We shall receive; We shall find; The door shall be opened unto us. It is the Holy Spirit that causes us to love God: Obey God.
God has given every soul that comes out of the womb, faith. Faith ignites the Holy Spirit to perfect the character of God in us: His love; to live obedience to God, to have the mind of Christ: to have God’s thoughts, and ways.
The just shall live by faith. We must believe. We must pray believing. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Whatsoever is done not in faith is sin. We must have, keep the faith of Jesus Christ.
Don’t let Satan take your faith. How does he take it? By us doubting God, by not believing God, by rejecting His Word, rejecting His law, rejecting His truths.
When we are given to unbelief, the Holy Spirit is grieved. If we do not have the Holy Spirit, we cannot do the good works of God; We cannot be restored unto the image, after the likeness of God. We will not have the love of God. The end result is eternal death.
Faith and works cannot be separated. The faith of Jesus Christ moves the Holy Spirit in the soul to obedience to God—taking God at His word.
If we believe on Jesus Christ, if we are filled with the Holy Spirit: We do what the voice of God says; We do His will—His Word. The doing that we do is obeying Him—loving Him. If we say we love God, yet disobey Him; this is sin. Sin is the transgression of the law of God.
It is not that we believe we want something, ask God for whatever and we will have it. No. It truly is that our asking is all about God. Period. It is truly about our spiritual state of mind, the gospel: the power of God to deliver us from sin, from the power of sin. God automatically takes care of His faithful. We do not want for nothing! If we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things shall be added into us. Satan has powers to give you what you ask for. We must know God, and be not deceived.
We know if we hold iniquity in our heart, our prayers are an abomination to God. If we turn our ear from hearing God’s law, His truths, His Word: Our prayers are an abomination to Him.
Solomon did not ask for riches, for material things. He asked for wisdom. His seeking, his desire, his want was spiritual. He sought to love God, know God, to please God. Solomon asked God for wisdom, he received, and received more of God than he asked. He sought, he desired the spiritual, the Holy Spirit; and God blessed him abundantly. What does that tell us? Our desire, our want has to be about God—spiritual. We must desire to be restored unto the image of God, after His likeness.
This is the key: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33 KJV
“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”
1 John 4:16-21 KJV
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: And with all thy getting get understanding.”
Proverbs 4:7 KJV
We live by faith. We pray believing, we pray always in the Spirit by faith.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
John 15:1-7 KJV
“Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
Matthew 17:17, 20-21 KJV
“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
Mark 11:22-26 KJV
“Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun. For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.”
Ecclesiastes 7:11-14 KJV
Our desire must be God. He will take care of everything concerning us.
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: that thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 KJV
Be not deceived. Watch, watch, I tell you to watch. Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation.
Peace
