The touch of faith

Have you touched Christ with the touch of faith that you be healed and made whole?

“And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, and besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬-‭30‬, ‭32‬-‭34‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To touch Christ with the touch of faith is to receive Him as one’s personal savior. Not only having an intellectual knowledge of Him believing He is Christ, that He came and lived, died for us, resurrected and ascended to Heaven; and that He is now in the Most Holy interceding for us, cleansing the sanctuary of all sin—no. But more importantly, that Yah is the Lord our God, the God of our salvation. He who sanctifies us. Our Deliverer. Our Healer, Restorer. That Christ is also our Governor. We desire and seek for Him to rule us, to possess us with His Holy Spirit. We choose enmity to sin daily, and we seek Him daily staying surrendered to Him, staying connected to Him—the very source of life, of love.

It is the touch of faith that the poor woman who had spent all she had going to physicians that could not help, nor heal her—but she remained plagued and became worse. The physicians she sought had no power to heal, they were only breathing because of God.

She went to touch Christ knowing, trusting Jesus. All she had to do was touch Him, she be whole.

Christ felt His virtue go out from Him. He knew the touch of faith that caused His virtue to go from Him. The woman was immediately healed because of her faith in Christ.

When we receive Christ as our personal savior, we trust Him. We take Him at His Word. We know there is nothing, nor no one who can beat God’s giving. No drug of mankind can heal. Only by faith, does God heal. No one has knowledge above God’s knowledge. Mankind does not always choose to glorify God with the knowledge He has given them. But, instead they invent and do that which brings God’s created beings much harm. God allows our choices and their consequences. Him allowing our choices is not His approval.

Oh let us all have the faith of Jesus that we be made whole as the woman with the issue of blood, as the centurion who went to Jesus on behalf of his servant, and so many more. We have plenty of examples. May we contemplate upon the faith of Christ as He was tortured, beaten, reduced, mocked, and crucified—as He stayed on that cross for even if there was but just one soul that would receive Him.

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬ ‭KJV‬‬
