“Shall Be In Thine Heart”

What shall be in our heart? Where is the heart that God is speaking of?

God communes with us in our mind. The mind is housed in the brain. It is in the frontal lobe that we make choices, discern, receive understanding of the knowledge God gives us. It is by the Holy Spirit that we are given both the will and to do God’s good pleasure. The mind of God is in our mind through the Holy Spirit as we behold the Word of God. We receive in our heart (mind) the very voice, the very will, the very words of God. We become changed by beholding.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 KJV
[6] And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: [7] And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. [8] And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. [9] And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy ga
tes.

The command was given by Christ in the beginning, in the Old Testament Scriptures, long before Christ came and was crucified and resurrected. Christ lived unto us the example of how we shall live the same: Fulfilling all the law of God. His love.

God tells us to talk of them (His Commandments), talk of His whole law (the whole Word of God) as we sit in our house, when we walk by the way, when we lie down, and when we rise out of bed. We are to bind them for a sign upon our hand. And they shall be as frontlets between our eyes. We are to write them upon the posts of our houses, and on our gates—we order our household after the Lord.

Basically, this is in our very existence. In all we eat, drink, in all we do: talk of them, think on them, apply them to everything concerning us in our lives, even in our leisure, our play, our labor, etcetera. In all we set our mind, and hand to do, apply God’s commandments, apply His Word. Apply His principles, His standards.

Yeshuah (Jesus) says often, several times repeating, that we not forget: If you love me, keep my commandments. He explained how His commandments all hang on His love (Agape). The first four commandments is Love for God. The last six commandments is love for our neighbors, as we love ourselves.

God’s love is the foundation of His government.
