What mind is to be in us?
Philippians 2:5-8 KJV
[5] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Matthew 20:22-23 KJV
[22] But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. [23] And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. …
The soul who will not forgive consents to the Devil keeping them in bondage to sin, to idolatry. See, idolatry comes in many forms, ways… Idolatry is not just a graven image that is worshiped (bow down to), or prayed to… it is also they one puts above God, above spouse… it can be children, parents, siblings…etc. It can be cars, money, material things… it is also the makeup worn, the jewelry worn, the clothes, the attitude in words, countenance, and demeanor… it is also what one may watch, read, listen to… eat and drink… it is also unforgiveness, resentment which can be classified under the character of Satan; but so can all the rest.
All idolatry is sin against God. All idolatry is Satan’s character. We cannot and will mot ever have both the mind of Christ and the mind of Satan. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. God does not share us with the Devil. We are either ALL God’s or we belong to Satan.
Many a soul is held in captivity in the prison of unforgiveness. The mind is where God communes with us. The mind is where the Holy Spirit is to dwell that we have a clean, pure heart… that we have a clear and sound mind and can rightly divide the Word of truth, that we accept, apply, live the Word. But if we recognize not that we are a prisoner, God will not, cannot make us free against our will. Let that marinate.
We must willingly forgive others, that God forgive us. When we forgive others, we are made free! And they do not take up residence in our minds where only God is to dwell through the Holy Spirit, for others taking up residence in our minds is transgression of the law of God: Sin. We are made free from putting another where only God is to be for He is our life.
Let us pray to God and declare His Word, that He will perform His Word in us by our freewill choice to live His Word: Love God.
Forgiveness shows the character of God, opens up the treasure of being made free by the Word written in our hearts. If we have forgiveness, we have chosen to be made free from sickness and death: Sin; and filled with the love of God: His character, and receive life.
