Eat up this account of God speaking to Jacob in a dream, the promise God reiterates speaking what He already promised to Abraham and his seed, their seed, etcetera. Then look at the faith of Jacob taking God at His word, believing God, speaking God’s word. And so it was.
“And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; and thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. And he called the name of that place Beth-el: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first. And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, so that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: and this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.”
Genesis 28:11-22 KJV
Oh if we just truly believe, repent and be converted. We will know that if we first seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things shall be added unto us. Our daily bread spiritually and physically—God will fill us with His Spirit. We by faith, bow down and worship, pray daily in our quality time with Him before the sunrise—God will speak to us in His word encouraging us, strengthening us, preparing us for the day ahead.
God will provide our physical food, our clothing, our shelter, intervene and make a highway where there was no easy; He will fight for us, contend with him that contends with us, and save our children. He sets us apart holy unto Himself! He will keep us the apple of His eye. He will lead us in the way in which we shall go, and guide us with His eye.
Oh many of us have committed adultery against God, yet He reaches out again, and again! His hand is stretched out still!!! Read, study Hosea in with Genesis, Exodus—God delivering His people over and over again. Read and study God and faithful Daniel! And on to Revelation!!! God is about saving to the uttermost!!!
But! The truth of the matter, the question every one of us needs to examine in ourselves to answer is this: Do I, Do you truly want to be saved (Delivered from sin)? Do we really hate, loathe sin? If not brethren, we best be praying to God asking for His perfect hatred for sin that we rather die than sin against Him crucifying Him afresh.
Well soon, the day will come where probation closes on each of us whether by death, or by grieving away the Holy Spirit. There comes an end. There will be no more mercies new every morning—His judgment is come: the sentence shall be executed. They who remain a sinner, remain wicked are destroyed by the works of their own hand—God allows their choices, consequences.
There is soon no more Christ interceding for us to His Father. No more the Holy Spirit’s convicting us. It is finished.
I pray we truly repent, be converted and daily remain in the secret place of the Most High abiding in Him. He will not only deliver us from sin and from the power of sin; but He will speak to us:
“Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
Hear the LORD:
“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; the Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, and shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Matthew 24:45-51 KJV
Remember, God’s word comes to pass. The point is this: Which do you truly want: God’s love, His mind within yours, or the sentence of death executed because the love for sin, hate for God—Which?
Either we are God’s people delighting in Him, in His law, in His government, in His ways, etcetera; or we hate Him and love sin, Satan, and death. Period.
Repent and be converted, be born again. Be not deceived. Watch and pray.
