Many don’t realize the intimate connection between spiritual health and physical health. The reformational journey to being born again is deep and broad and includes our diet.

Meat: Food, in all of its natural colorful variety, is what God made for mankind to maintain optimal health and performance—both physically and spiritually. Remember, our stomach is our second brain. Let that sink in. We are to assimilate our meat for our healing as well. Yes. Food is our meat and also our medicine.

Quercetin, generally known to be effective against viruses, is highly contained in green leafy vegetables and citrus fruits. But cherries, berries and grapes that are dark in color, as well as raw honey, apples and raspberries also contain a significant amount of quercetin. While bilberries are especially high in quercetin and other flavonoids, quercetin is highest in red onions.

Genesis 1:29-31 KJV
[29] And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. [30] And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. [31] And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Ezekiel 47:12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

The plant-based whole food diet is what God created best for the body’s endurance and sound mind, which is essential to successfully and wisely living in a world of so many unhealthy choices. It aids the mind to not only accept Him but also to ask for and receive the Holy Spirit. In this way we receive and abide in Christ.

Living is believing.

It is rooted in Christ and in doing His Word.

Created in His image, God knew best what mankind would require to fight off the effects of sin: disease and death. God still desires and ensures that we can have life and health and have it more abundantly.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (3 John 2).

Tip: Sprinkling just a little cardamon on your blueberries aids the body in receiving all the nutrients packed within them. Remember, it is your medicine.
